I have been active in Local Y017 for 9 years, serving five years as Shop Steward and four years as a Director.

Prior to arriving in the Yukon, I served for six years as a Shop Steward with the Ontario Nurses Association. My first union involvement came at the age of 16 as a member of the Teamsters, when I began working as a truck driver. I remained a Teamsters member for 20 years, serving 8 years as a Shop Steward.

Here in the Yukon I have participated as a member of the Yukon Area Council for three years, and worked as a member of the bargaining input committee and the bargaining team.

My goal as 2nd Vice-President on the YEU Executive is to provide a strong community voice to the union.
